Anti-wrinkle injections reduce the visible signs of ageing by smoothing out the appearance of wrinkles, helping skin to appear clearer and more rested. This injectable treatment is one of the most popular treatments performed in our clinic.
Anti-wrinkle injections help to reverse the changes in facial muscle dynamics associated with fine lines and wrinkles, whilst still allowing some movement and expression and maintaining a natural look. It is particularly effective for lines on the forehead, around the eyes, frown lines, and to lift the brow.
Botulinum toxin Injections are used mainly for smoothing the fine lines on the face, particularly the foreheard, between the brows, and around the eyes but can also be used for the neck. This treatment can also be used to relieve the symptoms of hyperhidrosis (excessive underarm sweating) and for teeth grinding when injected into the masseter muscles in the jaw. It may also be used as an alternative to lip filler to give the appearance of a fuller lip (the ‘lip flip’). Botulinum toxin can also be used to give a ‘non-surgical brow lift’ by relaxing the downward pulling depressor muscles near the eyebrows.
Anti-Wrinkle injections can be safely used alongside all of our other treatments in clinic. They work especially well with our other injectables such as dermal fillers, and form part of our signature Full Face Rejuvenation treatment.
To improve the skin quality and improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by increasing dermal thickness, treatments such as Endolift®, CO2 laser and Profhilo are especially well suited in conjunction with Anti-Wrinkle injections.
There is virtually no downtime. Injection points may be slightly red or raised immediately after treatment but these usually subside within a few minutes to hours. With any needle-based treatment there is a small risk of bruising around the injection sites.
We prefer to apply conservative doses particularly with new clients to ease them into a natural first-time result from our treatments . This sometimes means that an additional dose may be required following the first treatment. Additional dosing would be performed as a complimentary ‘top up’ between 2-4 weeks’ post treatment. We usually advise avoidance of (1) heavy exercise directly after anti-wrinkle injection treatments for 48h, (2) facial massage or pressure for 48h after treatment, and (3) lying flat for 2-3 hours’ after the treatment.
